It is a high responsibility to be a priest of the Lord. Much is expected of those who are appointed to serve as mediators between God and man. When Eli’s sons begin to abuse their position, they greatly anger the Lord. While we might think the calling of the priest only applies to those who work in the church, it doesn’t. The Bible teaches that in the new covenant every believer is a “priest.” In this message we will examine what Eli’s sons specifically did that angered the Lord, and how Edinbrook Church can avoid this temptation—a temptation which is all too common in today’s churches.
